The Gloaming is an old English term for twilight or dusk that combines a sense of poetic romance with a dark undercurrent of the night. This is an exhibition of intimate paintings that depict Brunswick streetscapesĀ in the early evening light, when buildings retain a glow from the fading afternoon sun, shadows coalesce and powerlines glimmer in flickering streetlights. These quiet images reveal small sublime encounters in everyday suburban environments.
